A Museum for Me goes to Mexico!

A Museum for Me has been invited to run online workshops with a group of representatives from the ‘Museo Legislativo’ or Legislative Museum in Mexico City, in which we introduce the concepts, and physical and virtual materials and activities of ‘A Museum for Me’

We have developed bespoke materials and have been using these in workshops in the UK and Colombia before and during lockdown, to work with marginalised communities (e.g. victims and exiles of armed conflict) on themes of historical memory and representation; following the success of our work with the ‘Museo Nacional de Colombia’ or National Museum of Colombia we have been asked to showcase this work to the Mexican museum, so that they can adopt the materials developed by A Museum for Me,, and adapt these to suit their own local context.

Workshop led by Prof. Claire Taylor & Dr. Lucia Brandi
